Black Dog Ride 2022 - Thanks

2022 and the 2 years previous have been a challenge to all of us, to say the least!

This years ride went off with only a couple of minor hiccups along the way.

127 bikes registered on the ride

19 pillion passengers

1 dog.

To the best of my knowledge all home safe and sound. Check out the South Adelaide Black Dog Ride page on facebook for photos and videos of the day.

Starting at the Pt Noarlunga/Christies Beach RSL, we gathered, formed up, sold raffle tickets and merchandise. Sales of which were down on previous years, but with the current cost of petrol, and the ongoing uncertainty of Covid, I can hardly blame people for not wanting to spend as much money. At the end of the day we have over $5,000 more than we started with so that's a good thing.

Stands up and headed off, on our scenic tour with first stop at Strathalbyn, via Mount Compass. The AM/PM servo there didnt quite know what hit them when we all rolled in around 11am.

Next stop at OTR Littlehampton, via Meadows (& Paris Creek Rd which I love) & Echunga. Another quick break and then we were heading to Murray Bridge.

Littlehampton to Murray Bridge was a straight run down the Old Princess Hwy with no detours. Another fantastic road, and I'm hoping the rumble of the bikes as we went past Monarto Zoo didn't upset the animals too much.

Organized chaos at the lunch break in Murray Bridge. With a number of their food vendors pulling out of the event last minute, didn't help, but we had a great rest, and joined up with the North Ride for the last leg of our journey to Lobethal.

Murray Bridge to Lobethal via Palmer another awesome ride. And pulling into Lobethal we got everyone's attention (except the cricket team that were celebrating in the pub).

Many thanks to give - to many to mention them all. But here's the major ones.

Michelle Walczak for being the most amazing woman I know - I started this journey but she's been with me every step of the way, and doesn't really get a say in whether she is helping or not.

Sean Muxlow -Timms Real Estate

Nathan Missel - Aussie Home Loans Mount Barker & Blackwood

Workzone Traffic Control Moto Riders Choice for supplying the recovery vehicle

To my corner marshals and everyone else that helped out on the day, you guys and girls are amazing. We could not have this ride without your support and efforts - Thank you!

To the riders that came along on the day:

We started some important conversations, we raised awareness, we raised some cash, and best of all, WE HAD A BLOODY GOOD RIDE! Thanks for coming along and making this event the success it was.

See you all again on the 19th of March 2023.

Cheers

Craig
