Music has always been a big part of my life. As a child I was forced to learn to play the keys, but didn't really commit to it as I wish I could have. As an adult, and especially in the last 10 years or so I have found myself doing a bit of concert photography, and love doing that.
In fact the whole reason these poems exist is because I am a wannabe rockstar, writing songs. But given I sound like a strangled cat if I sing, I thought lyrics written as poetry might be a better way to go.
Here is my ode to how music has helped me through some dark times.

Magic of Life
In the silence of the night, a melody takes flight,
Notes like stars in darkness, sparkling pure and bright.
Music, a timeless language, speaks to heart and soul,
It paints emotions vividly, making us feel whole.
With a gentle piano, it whispers tales of grace,
A symphony of emotions in every soft embrace.
In the rhythm of the drums, we find our heartbeat’s song,
A powerful pulse that carries us along.
A violin’s sweet lament, like tears of joy or woe,
Expresses what words cannot, in each exquisite bow.
Guitars strumming softly, tell of love’s sweet embrace,
While trumpets in the night, declare a triumphant chase.
From the depths of sadness to the heights of bliss,
Music takes us on a journey, an emotional abyss.
It weaves a tapestry of feelings, colours, and delight,
Breathing life to passions, like stars in the night.
So let the music play, let emotions come alive,
In its tender embrace, our hearts will surely thrive.
For in the world of sound, where melodies reside,
We find the magic of life, where emotions can’t hide.
